General Guidelines
Send your work to ecoliminal.earth@gmail.com. Use this format for your subject line: GENRE – Your Title(s) (e.g., ESSAY – Thresholds | Becoming Wild). Attach your submission as a single .docx or .pdf file, unless your work requires another format (e.g., .jpg for visual art). Don’t forget to include a short bio and a note about your piece.
At Ecoliminal, we believe the best stories emerge when boundaries blur. Whether you’re exploring identity, experimenting with form, or writing about the natural world in unexpected ways, we’d love to see your work. We’re also here for unconventionality. Play with white space, create something that teeters between prose and poetry, or bring in multimedia and mixed media!

✺ Essays & Stories
800 to 3,000 words, but shorter is cool if it’s punchy.
Essays that blend personal reflection with the wild world? Yes, please. Stories that teeter on the edge of reality? Bring it on.
Whether it’s a deep dive into ecological grief or a love letter to a tree, we’re here for it.
✺ Short Prose
Flash (up to 1,000 words): Submit up to 2 pieces.
Micros (under 300 words): Send us up to 3.
Small stories that carry big emotions—compact, precise, unforgettable.
✺ Poetry
Submit 1–3 poems (maximum 10 pages).
We welcome all styles—short, long, experimental, and rhythmic. Anything that lingers and resonates.
✺ Artwork (Visual & Multimedia)
Visual Art: Submit up to 5 pieces (JPEG or PNG, 300 dpi).
Multimedia: Videos or soundscapes under 5 minutes.
If your work is interactive or unconventional, let us know how we should view it.
Your art should explore the liminal and ecological, whether through a wild photo series or a layered digital collage.

Got something we haven’t thought of? Something that doesn’t sit neatly in any box? Send it here.
Collage writing, multimedia hybrids, pieces that shift between poetry and prose, or something that uses symbols, footnotes, or emojis to tell its story.
Max combined word count: 1,000. For non-text submissions, just let us know how we should view it.

We accept previously published and unpublished work.

What Happens Next
Acknowledgment- Once we receive your submission, you’ll get an email confirmation. If you don’t hear from us within a week, feel free to follow up.
Review Process- Our team carefully reviews every piece. We’re a small group, so please be patient—we aim to respond within 3 working days.
If Accepted- Congratulations! We’ll send you an acceptance email and discuss any minor edits or additional information needed for publication.
